There are newer models: the basic, cheapie Kindle and the Kindle Touch, and of course the Kindle Fire quasi-tablet. Each of these models is an excellent choice. Whichever one is right for you just depends on your preferences. The 3 e-ink Kindles are Kindle Keyboard (this one), Kindle Touch (the newest "flagship" model), and the basic Kindle. All 3 of them have EXACTLY THE SAME 6" DISPLAY, with the same sharp typeface and high contrast that reads like ink on paper with no eyestrain. The Kindle Keyboard is the oldest of these models, and I got one of the first ones when they came out in August 2010. I still absolutely LOVE my Kindle Keyboard and use it almost every day. Hardcovers are sometimes a bit heavy, and paperbacks don't always lie open easily. The Kindle is incredibly light and thin. I can hold it in one hand easily. The page turn buttons are conveniently located. Page-turns aren't instant, but they're probably quicker than turning a physical page in a printed book (there are just a lot more page-turns unless you choose a small font). Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my iPad and DX, but this new generation of Kindle is perfect for reading outside and for long periods of time. The iPad gets completely washed out in sunlight and often irritates my eyes staring at it for more than a couple of hours. The DX was my go-to device for those extended/outdoor reading periods, but now I have a new friend for reading novels. Instead of a replacement, this one seems more like a companion to the other devices and is a different class. Cage was first introduced to us in Because of Low as Low's best friend and total womanizer. This book is part of the Sea Breeze series but it can be read as a standalone. It might be good read Because of Low first just so you can fully understand the dynamic between Cage and Low, since Low does show up in While it Lasts, but you would not be confused or lost if you wanted to read about the Yummy, yummy Cage first. While it Lasts is my favorite book so far in the Sea Breeze series! I wanted to start reading it again the second that I finished the last page. (this book is New Adult, and might not be suitable for some younger teens, so just be aware of that) I have been a huge fan of the New Adult genre because the characters are a little bit older and they are more my age. While it Lasts is hands down, my favorite New Adult book that I have ever read. I'll admit that I was slightly skeptical of Cage. He is such a big player that I wasn't sure... I have almost 170 books downloaded in my Kindle and this would be my first to review. As a 31 year old mom, my reading genres are pretty broad, but for the most part, my preferences do lean toward "romance." As someone who has read very adult novels to YA, this one hits the mark! What I love about Ms. Glines is the ability to really connect with BOTH characters. A lot of times in a romance, you're reading from the female's point of view. So that connection between Eva and Cage was totally believable. Ms. Glines has upped the steamy factor, that's for sure...something else I can appreciate! Her characters are a little older, so the story's a bit more mature. This book is definitely not YA! Overall, a big round of applause for Abbi Glines. Let's hope her books keep going in this direction!
