From the start of the first chapter, I was immersed in the book and already attached to Lucie and Reid, our H/H. Lucie is a believable 29 year old woman, a mixture of professional competence and some personal heartache and insecurities. And Reid, while an alpha MMA champion, is also a caring man who doesn't want his broken childhood to define him. Reid and Lucie's older brother were best friends growing up so they already have a history and Reid sincerely likes Lucie for who she is.
